
I have been living and working in Padova most of my life: a wonderful city, full of history at every corner of its nice old town.
Back in the XVII-XVIII century, during the so-called “golden age” of violin making, Padova was an active centre for music, churches such as the “Basilica di Sant’Antonio” hosted figures such as Giuseppe Tartini. As a child, I often visited that church and its premises: starting a project about Giuseppe Tartini and its instruments has been a natural consequence.
The team consists of Alberto Cassutti, Damien Sainmont, and me.
We embarked on a journey traveling across Italy and Slovenia in search of Tartini’s violins and bows. The french bowmaker Jean-Yves Tanguy joined us soon, helping us with the bow research and manufacturing.
