This viola pattern was created from the Girolamo Amati Viola hosted in the “Galleria Estense”, Modena, Italy.
CT scans is very useful for creating faithful patterns, because is not affected by photographic abberrations or perspective distorsions.
Wood used: Maple from Balcan region for scroll, back and ribs (all from the same wood blank). Belly carved from a Fiemme Valley red spruce blank.
